The Garden of Morning Calm – Spring Series in Korea

One of my favorite destinations outside Seoul is The Garden of Morning Calm. The garden was conceptualized by Han Sang-kyung and was inspired by the poem of Sir Tagore who described Korea as “The Land of the Morning Calm”. The garden is the oldest private garden in Korea and features various festivals during different seasons:

  • Spring: Spring Garden Festival
  • Summer: Festival of Roses, Hydrangeas and Roses of Sharon
  • Autumn: Festival of Chrysanthemums and Autumnal Tints
  • Winter: Lighting Festival

Like many tourist attractions, The Garden of Morning Calm is also known as a filming location of popular Korean dramas and movies including Smile Again, You’re Beautiful and Love in the Moonlight.

Entrance Fee: 9,000 won
Transportation/Direction: Take the Gapyeong City Bust Tour. The Garden of Morning Calm will be the last stop.
