Ah spring! As Gerard Hopkins would say, ‘Nothing is so beautiful as Spring’. Nothing beats spring season for me. Spring season signals the end of cold winter, colorful flowers start to bloom and for travelers, no more winter coat and layers of clothing when you go out.
In Korea, there are numerous spring festivals including the very popular Yeouido Spring Flower Festival held in Yeouiseo-ro street in Seoul. The street is lined with cherry blossom trees and one of the most popular cherry blossom sighting spots in Seoul during spring. Other festivals include the Jinhae Gunhangje Festival in Jinhae and the Jeju Cherry Blossom Festival in Jeju.
If you missed the Yeouido Spring Flower Festival in Seoul as it only lasts for a week, why not visit the annual Taen Tulip Festival? Try to get out of Seoul and see the beautiful countryside of Taean. The Taen Tulip Festival features over a million of tulips, lupine, foxglove, lilies and other spring flowers. The festival has been selected as one of the world’s top five tulip festivals. If you ever dream of visiting the Keukenhof Garden, you’ll enjoy this festival for sure. And if you’re on a hurry to catch any of the spring festivals while in Korea, don’t worry, this festival lasts for almost a month. Be sure you have your camera and selfie stick when you visit the festival.
